IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT
To help the United States fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, U.S. law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each customer that opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account with us, we will ask for your and/or your business’s legal name, address, date of birth, tax identification number, and other identifying information that will assist us with identifying you and/or your business. We may also ask to see your photo identification (driver’s license) or other identifying documents. For businesses, we may ask for copies of certified articles of incorporation, an unexpired government-issued business license, a partnership agreement, or other documents that indicate the existence and standing of the entity.

Balance Transfer Information: Balance transfer transactions from other Elan Financial Services accounts are not permitted. You may cancel a balance transfer request within 10 days of account opening by calling 800-285-8585. After 10 days from account opening, requests to stop payment on Balance Transfer Check(s) issued by Elan shall not be honored unless the check(s) has been stolen, lost or destroyed.
Points that are earned through use of the Account but not redeemed will expire and be forfeited five (5) years from the date the earned Points post to your Rewards Account. Points will be redeemed and expired on a first-in, first-out basis. If at any time you no longer have a Credit Card associated with the Rewards Account, your Points will be forfeited. Please see your Rewards Program Rules for additional information.
If credits during a statement period exceed Purchases, the credit balance will be carried over to the following billing cycles and offset against future Purchases charged to the Account for purposes of awarding Points. We may round Net Purchases up if $0.50 or higher or down if $0.49 or lower to a whole dollar amount for purposes of awarding Points. Points will not be awarded for any billing cycle if your Account is closed or is not current on the closing date for that billing cycle. Points are not earned for Advances (including wire transfers, traveler's checks, money orders, foreign cash transactions, betting transactions, lottery tickets and ATM disbursements), Convenience Checks, Balance Transfers, INTEREST CHARGES and Fees, credit insurance charges, transactions to fund certain prepaid card products, U.S. Mint purchases or transactions to purchase cash convertible items. We may reverse Points that were awarded for unauthorized Purchases.
Points are non-transferable and have no cash value. Please allow up to 60 days after a Purchase for Points on that Purchase to post to your Points balance.
Your Account must be open and current to earn and redeem Points for rewards and benefits. You may not redeem Points, and you will immediately lose all of your Points, if your Account is closed to future transactions (including, but not limited to, due to Program misuse, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or death).
You may not use your Account (including but not limited to the use of convenience checks and cash advances drawn on your credit card account) to purchase investments or securities. Ameriprise reserves the right to cancel your Account if at any time we believe you have violated this requirement.
(b) Annual Fee Waiver for Achiever Circle Elite Members Only. Your Annual Fee is waived if you are an Achiever Circle Elite Member at the time of your cardmember anniversary date. This Annual Fee waiver is strictly dependent upon your Achiever Circle Elite status on your cardmember anniversary date in the current year and not based on status within the year or status from subsequent years. Please refer to ameriprise.com or your Financial Advisor for more information about your Achiever Circle Elite status and how this may change.
(c) Rewards Program Rules. Complete terms and conditions for the Rewards Program (the Program), including rules regarding the redemption, expiration, loss or cancellation of Points, award thresholds, eligibility, participation, and the right to amend or terminate the Program, are set forth in Ameriprise's Rewards Program Rules (the "Program Rules"). The Program Rules will exclusively govern the terms of the Program and, with respect to the Program, to the extent the Program Rules conflict with the terms of this Cardmember Agreement or any other materials, the Program Rules will control. With the exception of credit card statement credits, we are not responsible for redemption of the Points in your Rewards Account or for arranging or providing for any goods or services related to the use of Points, for any delay, failure, or refusal by Ameriprise Bank, FSB (“Ameriprise”) to award or redeem Points, or for any decision by Ameriprise to revoke or cancel Points or participation in the Program. (d) Ameriprise is not a party to this Agreement and has no authority regarding the Account, including with respect to any extension of credit on the Account. We are solely responsible for all credit extended on the Account. Ameriprise is not a creditor or owner of the Account. You authorize us to share information about you and your Account with Ameriprise.
(e) Elan and/or Ameriprise reserve the right to amend or cancel the Program or change the Program benefits at any time with or without notice to you.
